Surprise Mama!

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Tadaaa!

Hari ni Irfan buat surprise Hari Ibu dekat mama. Terima kasih Irfan. Nyam nyam. Sedap!

Terima kasih Teacher Iza kerana membantu anak-anak kecil ini meraikan hari bahagia buat ibu-ibu mereka.

Tadi Teacher Iza cakap, “Not really nak celebrate Mother’s Day coz in Islam everyday is Mother’s Day. This is just to teach them to love, respect and honour their mothers as mothers is a perfect creation of Allah and that is why Jannah lies under a mother’s feet”.

What a sweet thought from a teacher.

Tapi mama belum kuat semangat lagi nak buat semua tu. Bagaimanalah seorang ibu yang hatinya sering gundah-gulana hendak menongkah arus kebiasaan kehidupan hari ini? Awal-awal lagi mama surrender. Kita pi sekolah je la Irfan. Homeschool bila mama rajin. Hehe.

Buat semua ibu-ibu di luar sana, saya ucapkan Selamat Hari Ibu. Nothing would make the less of you, as long as you hold a strong unconditional love for your children and do your best raising them up to be a good person.

Wassalam =)

Projek 3R: Bekas Alat Tulis dari Bahan Terbuang

Assalamualaikum dan salam sejahtera,

Hari ini saya ingin berkongsi satu aktiviti yang menyeronokkan untuk dilakukan bersama anak-anak di musim cuti sekolah iaitu membuat BEKAS ALAT TULIS DARI BAHAN TERBUANG seperti tin kosong.

Bahan-bahan:

  1. Tin kosong
  2. Kertas pembalut hadiah / surat khabar / kertas kitar semula
  3. Reben & Manik (untuk hiasan)
  4. Glue Gun
  5. Gunting

1. BUAT JADUAL DAN SENARAI “THINGS-TO-DO”

2. TAKE A BREAK, FIND A DISTRACTION FOR A WIN-WIN SITUATION.

A Little Effort

Waking up early before dawn has made the difference. Irfan woke up super early too asking for “susu hot”. Papa tried to put him back to bed but obviously he will not sleep coz mama wasn’t sleeping. I took him out to the hall, showed some flash cards and let him help me clean up the mess.
The moment papa went off to work, Irfan cried cos I didn’t wanna let him watch Iron Man. I promised myself not to let him win this time. So I took him to the window and told him to look outside where he can see the real world. The buildings and vehicles. The people who went out to work, the birds and the trees. Finally I told him, “let’s take a bath and we’re going out to the park, okay”. And he followed me.
The day went well subhanAllah, just because I woke up before fajr, switched off the TV, played and giggled. We walked to The Children Grand Park and played at Children’s Museum for two hours. He asked for “susu hot” and when finished as usual he will always said “dah abish”. After telling me he wanted to sleep, he immediately tucked himself in the stroller and closed his eyes. I took subway back home and to my surprise, I couldn’t find any elevator at the exit. Lucky me there’s someone who cared to help me carry the stroller downstairs and up again.
Later that night, Irfan ate his dinner and drank apple juice which is so unlikely of him. He just needed a little time and attention from me to respond and listen well. Alhamdulillah I realize as a mother, I constantly need to sit back, reflect and restrategize my plans. Of course, by doing this I am withholding a lot of things I wanted to do. But none of that matters because the result is incredible. Nothing beats seeing our kids jolly and calmer like that.
Being a role model to our children and maintaining our sanity can be very difficult. Sometimes, I can just snapped out of the blue *sigh* I am sucha bad mother. I so have a long long way to go don’t I? But I’ve learned that by taking baby steps and focus on our purpose, at least we are moving towards becoming better at parenting. (obviously trying to make myself feel better, haha)
“Ok mama, I am not interested and I’m going to find something else”
The Wood Cabin with a slide
Up up up and away on the cabin my little explorer
“Omnomnom..is this the same banana papa usually eats?”
“Hey little monster fella, you’re not gonna hurt my brother don’t ya?”
The doll: “Oookay now, not my dress”
Less than 10 secs arranging fish scales and off he went away, this is so boring
“Mmm so many toys which one should come into my mouth first?”

Autumn: Children’s Grand Park

Boy he seems so cool, not wanting to wear his cap and gloves while it’s freezing out here.
Irfan says “Agerrr”  (Tiger)
Irfan’s first Pony Ride
Irfan’s impulse obsession with Meerkats and it seems to enjoy his company
Take five! Time for snack
SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahuakbar, beautiful shades of vibrant leaves

Autumn is coming to an end here in Seoul, so we decided to go out and experience it’s beauty while it still lasts. But bear in mind having two active little munchkin boys to tag along has become a very challenging task for new parents like us from cooking breakfast, getting them ready for the day, and ensuring not to miss anything in our travel kit (diapers, milk powder, snacks, wet wipes, etc you name it).

Children’s Grand Park is located 1 km away from our apartment. Thought of walking but naah, it’s too cold, we should just ride a taxi (for 4000 won). Taking subway is another option but it is less convenient to bring a stroller as we need to cross the road and climbed up the stairs without escalator or elevator.

We passed the main entrance and stopped by the Information Counter to take a map. The park consists of Animal Villages, Children’s Museum, Amusement Park, Outdoor Performance Hall, Character World, Botanical Garden, Musical Fountain, Kids Auto Park and Football Field. And tadaa we scored ONE out of all parks. Hahha. Obviously we took the animal village because Irfan has this crazy obsession of animals. The Animal Village are divided into Fierce Animals, Small Animals, Reptiles, Marine Animals and Children’s Zoo.

Going out with your little ones means that there are a threshold limit that they can stand. After that limit comes temper tantrums. This time, Irfan threw tantrum because he refused to sit in his stroller and didn’t wanna go out from the zoo while baby Musa on the other hand got cranky because he was restless and mama was overjoyed that she missed his feeding time, lol.

Good thing the park provides nursing room at almost all rest checkpoints. This is something HUGE for mothers, isn’t it? Being able to travel around and not worry to find hideouts to nurse our babies. However, it’s good to bring nursing cover too, in case of emergency temper tantrum which needs immediate nursing in public. Hahha.
(blog update: turned out all parks provide this kind of facilities, including Nami Island weee)

I really feel I didn’t do justice to describe how awesome the park is. Therefore, you can find more information about this park through these websites:
